Using nodestitch.app on a phone
Getting Started
Using nodestitch.app on a phone
When you open a pattern at nodestitch.app in your phone's web browser, the editor switches to a simpler phone view. This is the website, not the NodeStitch phone app; the phone app is a separate download (see Plans in the NodeStitch phone app).
What the phone view shows
- The page fits your screen. The whole width of the page shows, and you scroll down through it. Pinch to zoom in on small text.
- At the top: the back arrow to your projects, the pattern's name and whether your changes are saved, Undo, Redo, the ... menu and Download.
- Under that: Text and Photo to add a text box or a photo, then B, I, U and the text size, which work on the text you have selected.
- At the bottom: the arrows and dots move between pages and show which page you are on, for example Page 2 of 5.
What you can do on a phone
- Read your pattern page by page.
- Fix text. Tap a text box to select it, then tap it again to type in it. Bold, italic, underline and the text size apply to what is selected.
- Add a text box or a photo. Photo opens your phone's photo picker.
- Download the PDF with Download, the same PDF as on a computer.
- From the ... menu: change the project's Craft and US/UK stitch terms, turn on Page numbers and open Version history.
What needs a computer
Stitch charts, tables, shapes, Pattern Review, Count Stitches, Smart Edit, the font list, and moving or resizing things on the page are not in the phone view. Open the same pattern on a computer to use them. Everything you change on the phone is saved to the same project, so it is all there when you do.
A tablet held sideways, or any window wider than a phone, shows the full editor.
